At Rochdale School of Rock and Pop we have worked hard to select the very best local musicians and teachers. Having a teaching qualification is (sadly) not always a guarantee of being a good teacher, and being a great performer (or singer) is not always a guarantee that you have the special communication skills needed to teach!
Our teachers however, have been indivdually selected for their ability to perform AND connect with a wide range of abilities, ages and styles.
Vocals (including technique, vocal groups and stage skills)
Kate Gavaghan MA
We are very lucky to have to the fabulouse Kate Gavaghan MA (trained in the latest Estill and Vocal Process techniques). Kate is a very experienced performer and teacher (to degree level and beyond) and an expert in moden styles from Pop to Rock and Musical Theatre.
Kate is a quailifed teacher, has an MA in vocal performance, and has trained (many times) with Gillyanne Kayes (founder of Vocal Process and a student of the legendary Jo Estill). She actually trained with TV talent show legend Yvie Burnett - voice coach to The Voice, X Factor, The Big Reunion and many more. BUT we think Kate is better (just ask her students!)
She has many award winning students - with a plethora of trophies and gold/silver medals at music competitions, and has been training the degree students at Blackpool & Fylde College for many years.
